KUALA LUMPUR MAR.25: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin emphasizes that for the police to have a strong enforcement team they should apply values of discipline and integrity.
Muhyiddin said, the police must have a strong sense of belonging to their team and high sense of responsibility to their duties.
“Insya Allah, with sincere intention and good teamwork, I am confident and believe in the capabilities of the police in protecting the peace and sovereignty of the country and to defend the good name of the police among Malaysians,” he said in his speech during the 214th Police Day Celebration at the Police Training Centre here today.
The Prime Minister added, the police must also elevate, strengthens and master the national laws besides gaining more up-to-date exposure and global partnerships.
To achieve this Muhyiddin said, the police must undergo more training, participate and attend courses and conferences organised locally and internationally.
“The police force should have international collaboration and strategic cooperation at international level to be at par with the security forces in other countries like Scotland Yard, the Royal Military Police United Kingdom, and the Hong Kong Police Force,” he added.
Muhyiddin also said, the government realised that the police force are now facing with more complex challenges with the advancement of technology and borderless world.
“With high level of self-identity, professionalism and competence among the police, I am confident that they will be able to stop and eradicate increasingly complex criminal activities.
“With regards to that, I believe there is still room for the police to raise the level of professionalism and readiness in shouldering their responsibilities,” Muhyiddin reiterated.-Malaysia World News
