PETALING JAYA: An investigation has been carried out by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) on the Instagram post of Noor Kartini Noor Mohammed, mother of well -known entrepreneur and celebrity, Neelofa, who allegedly uploaded sensitive comments and visuals of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
Utusan Malaysia reported, the investigation was carried out following a police report lodged at about 5.44pm this yesterday afternoon.
Brickfields District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Anuar Omar said the initial investigation found that the post had been uploaded by a 32 -year -old woman.
He said the woman admitted to mistakenly using Noor Kartini’s Instagram by making the post.
“This case is still under investigation by the police because it was deliberately humiliating with the intention of creating a breach of the peace under Section 504 of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 14 of the Minor Offenses Act 1955,” he said in a statement here today.
Meantime, Anuar also advised the public not to arbitrarily share any information or news on social media to the detriment of the reputation and human rights of any person.
He said any information related to crime can be channeled to the Brickfields Police Hotline at 03-2297 9222, the Kuala Lumpur Police Hotline at 03-2115 9999 or any nearby station.
Earlier, Noor Kartini apologized to the Johor State Palace, especially to the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar for an employee’s mistake in uploading sensitive comments using her Instagram account.
According to Noor Kartini, she became aware of the issue regarding the screenshot from her Instagram Story after it was spread on social media which displayed comments on the Constitutional Monarchy system in Malaysia.
She said the matter happened due to the negligence of one of her employees who had access to her Instagram account, according to the national media.
The matter arose after many tweeted on Twitter about Neelofa’s mother who was said to have dared to make a challenging statement touching on the issue of the royal constitution.
The message that was uploaded, along with a background video showing the face of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, reads: ‘if you are concerned, tell the Agong to cancel the emergency !! Talk more !!
The matter has also received attention from the royal family, Utusan reports.
