Perikatan Nasional (PN) is not afraid to compete in the 15th General Election, said its Chairman Muhyiddin Yassin.
He explained that PN did not agree that the election be held now as it was worried about the hardship and the safety of the people.
“It is not because we are afraid or afraid to compete, but we are more concerned about the hardships of life and the safety of people’s lives because it (election) is held during the rainy or monsoon season which may lead to major floods.
“Imagine if it was held when a flood disaster struck, how the government would manage the election process and at the same time be busy transporting victims to the flood evacuation center, taking care of the health and safety of the lives of the people involved, providing food and drink for the victims and ensuring that every victim gets the right to fulfill the responsibility of voting ,” he said at PN Tour in Tasek Gelugor, Penang.
He added, this situation would make life more difficult for the people who have previously been badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, since the decision has already been made, Muhyiddin urged all the people to go out and vote en masse to elect Perikatan Nasional – a party that cares about the fate and lives of the people and opposes corruption, corruption and abuse of power to form a government after the election.
“Let us use this opportunity to ensure that the government that will be formed later is no longer led by the UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) parties which continue to be entangled with integrity issues but rather a government that always thinks about the lives and fate of the people which is Perikatan Nasional,” he added.
