The Perikatan Nasional-linked activist group Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM) has launched a movement called “Tukar PM Segera” (change the PM now). It claims that Anwar has failed to deliver on reforms and endorse corruption and nepotism, and that the “social contract” on bumiputera and Islamic matters is being undermined.
PN-linked group said the street protest will bring down ‘national clown’ Anwar. However, they did not mention when or where will the protest take place.
About 12 of them wearing yellow tshirt and holding yellow balloons gathered in downtown Kuala Lumpur today and called for the prime minister to be ousted.
SAMM founder Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard, the rally against the government would lead to the downfall of the Prime Minister.
“Anwar rose through the streets and I believe the streets will drag Anwar back down,” Badrul said when addressing the press outside the Sogo shopping mall, as quoted by local media.
“We do not want to topple the government, we just want to change Anwar,” he also said.
