Former Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak suggests the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government should give priority to the people’s need and welfare in each decision it makes, besides prioritising security and health.
“Prioritise welfare and provide a guarantee that they (the people) can continue their lives.
“Security and health are important but do not neglect the people’s needs, prioritise them,” he said in a post on his facebook few hours after PN announced it might declare a “state of emergency” across the nation to tackle the worsening Covid-19 pandemic situation.
He said the people are trapped by the present uncertain and unstable situation.
“Increasingly the people are trapped, traders are caught in a bind. Life is hard for many people. The situation is uncertain, unstable, not on the right path.
“Every move made (by the government) must take into account the people’s interest. Every decision made must also include the aspect of people’s welfare,” the Pekan MP said in a Facebook post today.
Earlier today, Muhyiddin chaired a special cabinet meeting in Putrajaya. The cabinet agreed to the implementation of an “emergency”.
