KUALA LUMPUR:  The fate of the nation cannot be negotiated and gambled in the coming 14th General Election as the current political situation has placed the Malays at the crossroad to decide correctly.

UMNO President, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said, the future of the nation is in the hands of UMNO and the Malays and as such it is important for them to choose the correct party to lead the government.

“We cannot imagine the horrific dream and the ugly future that we will be undergoing in future if the opposition party takes over the government.

“Firstly, can we afford to let our religion, Islam and its “Syiar” to be humiliated and become less important in our own land…? Secondly, can we afford to see the Institution of Malay Rulers being dishonoured and other institutions like MARA, FELDA and Tabung Haji are being set aside?

“If the opposition takes over the government, the objectives of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), a Bumiputera institution that becomes UMNO’s pride  will definitely be obstructed.

“Civil servants who have been the backbone of the government will immediately be reduced in numbers when the opposition takes over. The Bumiputera special privileges will be abolished, the moral of the Malays humiliated and the “parental” dominance will be dropped,” he said.

Najib who is also the Prime Minister of Malaysia said that in his keynote address at the UMNO General Assembly in Dewan Merdeka, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) on Wednesday in the presence of 5,628 party representatives from 191 divisions from all over Malaysia.

The UMNO President also warned the assembly that they have two choices either to have a party that leads the light to the end of the road which is brighter where hopes will be realised and the nation will be elevated to greater heights.

Najib added, the other choice is the road that is still blur under the clutches of DAP dynasty which is still groping in the dark for direction and full of manipulation. At the end of the day, the party will lead the people back to the old practices of cronyisms.

He also said, the real war in the coming general election is in the cyber and digital world.

“If we fail to control these “two wars” then what we have done so far will possibly be useless. So please utilise it in the most beneficial way and do not depend only to certain groups to fight the wars.

“We have three million UMNO members and seven million Barisan Nasional members and everyone is a cyber warrior,” he said.
