The Speaker of Dewan Rakyat has not been appointed by Pakatan Harapan (PH) that took over the government from Barisan Nasional (BN) since they won the 14th General Election on May 9.

The Speaker of Dewan Rakyat before the 14th General Election was Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia from Kota Belud, Sabah who served for two terms from April 29, 2008 until May 9, 2018.

Asked on the response of the briefing, Roosme said the session was full of excitement for the new MP’s as it guides them on how to forward a question,  debate in a special session and how to forward issues of public interests that need urgent attention.

She added, the briefing also exposed them to the guidelines on how to propose a bill to be tabled at the Dewan Rakyat.

The briefing she said was also attended by former ministers who need guidelines as to how to forward a question in the Dewan Rakyat.

“Many MPs are not aware that a shorter notice of 10 days is required to forward current questions, one day before Tuesday and Thursday in the   Ministers’ Special Time,” she added.
