PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob invited all members of the Dewan Rakyat including the Opposition to work together with the government to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said that our common enemy now is the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We need to find common ground to save our family, the Malaysian Family (Keluarga Malaysia).
“I adapt to the concept of Malaysian Family as this phrase is inclusive in nature,” he said in his maiden speech as Prime Minister on Sunday (Aug 22).
He said that every Malaysian was part of a family despite the diversity of religion, race and ethnic.
“I understood the hardship of having to struggle for even a mouthful of rice since I was brought up in a poor farmer family. Therefore, I solemnly understood the difficulties that the people face during this economic crisis brought about by the pandemic.”
