KUCHING OCT.23: The government has given special focus on Sarawak among the six states besides Sabah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Perlis in narrowing the gap of economic development at inter-state level, territory, city and rural areas so that the economic prosperity will be enjoyed fairly and equitably.

Prime Minister, Dtuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, at least 50 per cent of the basic development allocation of the Federal in the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) will be distributed to the six states involving the provision of basic infrastructures, digitalisation, education, health care services and economic development.

Ismail said, the same approach will be the core of the 2022 Budget that will be tabled in the Parliament next week.

“To realize the goal of Malaysian Family that stresses on the values of inclusivity, togetherness and gratitude, the government will monitor closely the implementation of programmes and initiatives that have been planned specifically for Sabah and Sarawak to ensure that all of us will develop as one Malaysian Family,” Ismail said in his special deliberation in conjunction with the launching of the “Malaysian Family” at the Borneo Convention Centre, here this evening via live telecast on TV1.

The Prime Minister added, many programs and initiatives have been implemented under the umbrella of Malaysian Family and it includes “Rumah Ikram Malaysian Family”, Malaysian Family Squad, Malaysian Family Device Package, Malaysian Family COVID-19 Care Package, Malaysian Family Disaster Preparedness, Students’ Welfare Malaysian Family Foundation and Malaysian Family Residential House.

Ismail highlighted, to monitor the implementation of the Malaysian Family concept the Key Happiness Outcome (KHO) has been introduced to complete the Key Performance Index (KPI).

He added, the KHO and KPI will be the commitment and the concern of the government to bring the country out from the pandemic. This will also improve the position of Malaysia in the World Happiness Report currently in the 81st position for the year 2021.

In the event, the Prime Minister also launched the Malaysian Family Foundation and said that it is an institution that will help the children of Malaysian Family in getting support especially in the education aspect until they reach the age of 18.

“The Malaysian Family Foundation is a manifestation of care and love for the whole Malaysian Family that is expressed together for the children that have been impacted by the pandemic.

“The Foundation will widen its protection wings to the other children of Malaysian Family that need the same support. This is the meaning of inclusivity, togetherness and gratitude in the Malaysian Family,” Ismail said.

The Prime Minister said: “I urge the whole Malaysian Family will be together to help this generation. My hope is with the Malaysian Family Foundation no more Malaysian Family child will be forced to undergo the hardship alone.” – Malaysia World News
