PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has instructed the Ministry of Health (MOH) to give the best treatment that is needed by the former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak following reports of his health condition.
“I have been informed about the health condition of Datuk Seri Najib. MOH has been instructed to give the best treatment to the former prime minister. I pray for his recovery,” Ismail said in a post in his official Twitter, Monday.
Earlier the Director General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said, Najib had been admitted to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) on 9th September 2022 as an elective case (not emergency) to ensure his health is good and at the optimum level.
Dr.Noor Hisham said, following examinations and tests which were conducted by senior consultant specialists comprising heads of their respective clinical services, HKL held a family conference twice with Najib and his family members,during which they were told of the test results in accordance with medical practice.
“They had been informed about the unanimous decision of the consulting experts to allow Najib to be discharged from HKL. It was also informed that the types of medicines prescribed when he was admitted to the ward were the same as in the list of medicines from MOH. Najib was healthy before he was allowed to be discharged from HKL,” Dr. Noor Hisham said in a statement.
Dr. Noor Hisham added, MOH is committed and transparent in providing health services to any individual but at the same time responsible to comply with the ethics of patient’s confidentiality under the Medical Act 1971( Amendment 2012).
However he said, any detailed information about a patient’s health can be presented to the court if directed by the court. –Malaysia World News
