PUTRAJAYA SEPT.6: – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has requested the Ministry of Finance (MOF) to ensure the process of COVID-19 Special Aids (BKC) runs smoothly especially on recipients living in remote areas that are far from banking facilities and without bank accounts.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said, the request is made following the Prime Minister’s observation via online on the payment process of the BKC Phase 1 that has been credited to 10 million recipients starting today.
The PMO added, according to MOF’s data, 708,223 recipients of BKC are without bank accounts.
“Based on that data, the Prime Minister wants the cash vouchers from MOF to reach the recipients without delay.
“In that online session, the Prime Minister has taken the opportunity to interact with recipients of BKC at several Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches including Putrajaya, Sabah, Sarawak, Kelantan, Pahang, Perlis, and Johor,” the statement said.
The statement also highlighted that the Prime Minister toon a report directly from MOF Minister, Senator Tengku Datuk Zafrul Tengku Aziz who went personally to observe the payment process at Putrajaya.
The statement mentioned that Prime Minister also received feedback on the BKC distributions from MOF Deputy Minister 1, Mohd. Shahar Abdullah who observed the payment process at BSN Triang, Bera, Pahang.
“The Prime Minister hopes the aid will help lessen the burden of Malaysian Family who have been affected by COVID-19 pandemic,” the statement said. –Malaysia World News
