PM Anwar working visits to Turkiye, Egypt to discuss on Palestine-Israel conflict – Ministry

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been scheduled to undertake a working visit to the Republic of Türkiye from 21 until 22 October followed by a visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt from 22 until 23 October 2023 to discuss matters related to the ongoing Palestine-Israel conflict.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its statement said, in Türkiye, Prime Minister will meet the President, His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to discuss on a joint effort between Malaysia and Türkiye to contribute towards resolving the Palestine-Israel conflict that has become severely alarming.

“In his inaugural visit to Egypt, Prime Minister is scheduled to call on the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, to discuss matters related to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, particularly on efforts to cease fighting and the opening of humanitarian corridors for the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gazans through the Rafah-Gaza border,” the statement said.

Meanwhile the Prime Minister is also scheduled to call on the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, His Eminence Prof. Dr. Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed El-Tayeb.

“Both working visits are reflective of Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to the issue of Palestine, especially to alleviate the plight of Palestinians who are severely deprived due to the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip,” the statement added.

During the visit, the Prime Minister is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir and senior government officials.- Malaysia World News
