PM Anwar visits Thailand to monitor progress of projects – Ministry


KUALA LUMPUR:  The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will undertake a Working Visit to Sadao, Songkhla Province, Thailand on 27 November 2023 at the invitation of Prime Minister of Thailand, Srettha Thavisin.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the main purpose of the visit is to monitor the progress of the Road Alignment Project Linking Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Bukit Kayu Hitam in Malaysia and Custom, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Sadao in Thailand.

According to the statement, accompanying the Prime Minister will be Cabinet Ministers and deputy Cabinet Ministers, including Datuk Mohamad Alamin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and senior government officials.

“Prime Minister and Srettha Thavisin will also review the progress of the outcome reached during their last meeting on 11th October 2023. Among the issues include the establishment of joint task forces to boost bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, tourism, agriculture, and food security as well as border security.

“This visit reflects the commitment of the two leaders to further strengthen the warm and close relationship between the two neighboring countries, especially on joint border development,” the statement said. – Malaysia World News
