KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stressed that teachers in the country have played great roles in the people’s lives.
Anwar said, the credibility of a teacher is not only measured via the capability to produce students with grade A in all the subjects but also evaluated on the ability to educate students to be ethical, polite and with high morals.
“I have requested the Ministry of Education to set up a special team to find ways to inject again the spirit of interest in subjects related to science and technology.
“I have also asked the “education family” to give a new chance to the government’s leadership to uplift the people’s spirit to return Malaysia to be a great nation in this region,” Anwar said in his Facebook post.
He said that in conjunction with the 52nd National Teacher’s Day celebration held at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC), Ayer Keroh on Monday.
The theme of the celebration was “Teachers as a catalyst for Madani generation.”
Also present at the function was Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek, Deputy Minister of Education, Lim Hui Ying and the Melaka Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Ab. Rauf Yusoh. –Malaysia World News
