KUALA LUMPUR: Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar said the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be given more time to develop the national economy as the Unity Government is facing with financial difficulties.
As quoted by the media Sin Chew Daily, Sultan Ibrahim said, the government under the leadership of Anwar is challenging as the country is facing with financial crisis and as such more time is needed for Malaysia to develop its economy.
“Anwar only realises the government is facing with financial difficulties after he becomes the prime minister. I believe he needs more time,” His Majesty said on Saturday.
However, His Majesty said he feels relief as Anwar’s visit to China early of the year managed to bring back positive results for the national economic growth.
“The delegation’s visit to China from 29th March till 1st April 2023 had witnessed China’s investment commitment amounting RM170 billion for Malaysia.
“In line with that development, Johor receives a major part of the commitment with RM80 billion investments from China’s largest petrochemical company, Rongsheng Petrochemical Co. Ltd.,” His Majesty said. –Malaysia World News
