Pakatan Harapan MPs from PKR, DAP and Amanah have nominated Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the prime minister candidate for the Pakatan Harapan government, a media statement said today.
However, this nomination was done without the presence of Dr Mahathir.
The statement said Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council has invited Tun Dr Mahathir to chair the meeting and restore the Pakatan Harapan government, but Tun declined to attend the meeting on Tuesday evening, February 25.
Thus, the decision of the Presidential Council yesterday has determined that Pakatan Harapan’s prime ministerial candidate is Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
In another development today, Anwar urged the public to accept whoever Agong appointed as the new prime minister.
Currently Agong is interviewing all malaysian MPs inorder to choose among the person who commands majority support in the parliament to be the new prime minister.
