KUALA LUMPUR 19 JULY: The government did not regard the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Manifesto as sacred as the Quran or Bible to the extent that they are not free to move.
Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad (pic) said, the government tries to implement the manifesto but obstructed by the laws left behind by Barisan Nasional (BN) government and also new officers replacing those involved in criminal cases are without experiences.
“If the opposition regards the manifesto as sacred then we have created sins and we are responsible for it but we do not think that way. If we have any problem, we will find the solution,” said Dr. Mahathir answering to an additional question raised by Khairy Jamaluddin (Rembau) in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Khairy’s question was how many of the PH Manifesto is regarded as just guideline when Dr. Mahathir mentioned that the manifesto was not regarded as a bible but a guideline few days ago.
Earlier Dr. Mahathir said, the government has implemented two out of its 10 promises; six are on its implementation process and two are still pending.
He added, the government is committed to realise and implement all its 10 promises as manifested in the 14th General Election (GE) for accountability and fulfilling the public’s hopes on the new government.
“Our focus is not only on the manifesto but also to clean up the BN government’s corrupt practices and tracing some criminal cases. We try to get back the money lost apart from restructuring the government departments.
“We are responsible to realise 60 promises and 40 commitments as manifested in the GE. However not all the promises could be realised as it has not reached 100 days yet,” he said.
Dr. Mahathir said that in answering the question from Fong Kui Lun (Bukit Bintang) on how far the PH manifesto has been implemented within 100 days in Dewan Rakyat today. – Malaysia World News
