KUALA LUMPUR, March 18: Minister of Science Technology and Innovation, Khairy Jamaluddin was the first recipient of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine at Rembau Hospital today.
The Member of Parliament for Rembau, Negeri Sembilan said he just finished receiving his first dose of Sinovac vaccine.
“The Sinovac vaccine was approved by the Drug Control Authority (DCA) on March 2, 2021 after undergoing a rigorous evaluation by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Division (NPRA).
“People should not be skeptical of the Sinovac vaccine. The vaccine has been proven safe and effective in preventing COVID-19 disease and has been used in 27 countries such as China, UAE, Indonesia, Turkey and Brazil involving over 60 million doses,” he said in a Facebook post.
The vaccination was carried out by the vaccination officer, Puan Salha Abdul Samad, the Chief Nurse Supervisor at Rembau Hospital.
Sinovac vaccine is imported from Republic of China and bottled by a local company, Pharmaniaga and had been approved by the government of Malaysia.
