“Pekan people needs me to continue serving them,” says Najib

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister Najib Razak has left Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur and went back to his hometown Pekan, Pahang today after a shocking defeat in the 14th General Election followed by several midnight police raids and social media grills over 1MDB scandal allegations.
 
Upon arrival at his hometown residence at around 12:30pm, Najib and his wife Rosmah were greeted and recieved by many of their supporters from Pekan.
 
He was welcomed by members of the Kelab Anak Wawasan Pekan (Kawan) and the Majlis Permuafakatan NGO Parlimen Pekan and the public since his arrival today.
 
“The people (of Pekan) want me to come back,” he told reporters when he arrived at his residence in Pekan.
 
Najib has been the Pekan MP for four decades.
 
“They continue to support me for all the things that I have done for them all these years. They want me to continue to serve them as an MP. So I’m glad to be back,” Najib added.
 
Najib also mentioned that he would be officiating the UMNO branches meetings and programs in Pekan division.
