KUALA LUMPUR NOV 26: Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) affirms to play its role as the Opposition in the Parliament and will not join the Federal Government led by Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Democratic Action Party (DAP).
PAS Secretary General, Takiyuddin Hassan said, the decision was made after considering various aspects including the people’s general opinion and with due respects of the beliefs and mandate of the majority specifically the voters who had chosen PAS and Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the 15th General Election.
“PAS will continue to play its part as a constructive Opposition and advising all parties to ensure the national governance runs smoothly based on the principles “Care, Clean and Stable,” Takiyuddin said a statement posted in his Facebook.
Currently the Unity Government or Federal Government consists of PH, Barisan Nasional (BN) and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
Meanwhile on Friday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said, the Unity Government had reached a two-thirds majority in Dewan Rakyat after Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) decided to participate in his administration. –Malaysia World News
