SEMENYIH, Feb 27 — PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim claims he has concrete evidence that proves the Islamist Party PAS had paid over RM1 million to Sarawak Reportas a settlement in a civil suit against the news portal.

Anwar revealed that he has a bank statement proving PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had paid a total of RM1.4 million to Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown last month.

“My name is Anwar Ibrahim. I will not fight if I do not possess any facts.

“If they challenge later, I will show the bank statements. Which bank? Let’s wait first,” he was quoted as saying at Terminal Bas Semenyih Sentral last night,

PAS denied they had paid Sarawak Report Editor to settle the defamation suit. Abdul Hadi said both sides agreed to settle the suit on confidential conditions.

Abdul Hadi sued Sarawak Report in London in 2016 for its report which claimed former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak gave RM90 million to the PAS leadership as a bribe to support him in the 14th general election, later on last month he announced that he withdrew the case and settled the matter outside court.

The Port Dickson MP also warns the PAS not to dispute his claims or challenge him in court because he has the proof.

“Tonight, PAS should just keep quiet,” he said
