Onn Hafiz sworn in as the 19th Menteri Besar of Johor

KUALA LUMPUR MAR 15- Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, 43, UMNO candidate who won the Machap seat with a 6,543 majority in the Johor State Elections on Saturday was sworn in as the 19th Menteri Besar of Johor today.

Onn Hafiz, the grandson of the Former Prime Minister Tun Hussein Onn was sworn in by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar at the Istana Bukit Serene in Johor Bahru.

Also present was Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

On the appointment as the new Menteri Besar of Johor, Onn Hafiz expressed his gratitude to the former Menteri Besar of Johor, Datuk Hasni Mohammad for all his sacrifices, commitments, assistances and leadership in stabilising the beloved state of Johor and to him in person all this while.

He said, Hasni’s sacrifices to give way to the young people to lead Johor State does not only shows that he has a great mind and heart of a nationalist but also proves that he has the confidence on the roles and capability of the young people to lead Johor.

“Insya Allah I will always ask for his advice for he is more experienced than me. I hope with the combination of experiences with energy and idealism of the young will help develop and strengthen this state and move forward further,” Onn Hafiz said in his Facebook today.

To the Johorians Onn Hafiz said, Insya Allah all the promises made by the Barisan Nasional (BN) will be fulfilled in the most possible ways.

“I hope all the Johorians regardless of race, religion and background will be with me, with one heart, mind and energy to continue developing our beloved state,” he said. – Malaysia World News
