PUTRAJAYA MAR 21: Following the announcement made by the Foreign Affairs Ministry on 19th March 2021, Malaysia has expelled all diplomats of the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Kuala Lumpur today.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said, the expulsion has been carried out in conformity with Article 9 of the Vienna Convention of Diplomatic Relations 1961.

“The government of Malaysia has to resort to taking this action in response to the DPRK’s 19th March 2021 unilateral and utterly irresponsible decision to sever diplomatic ties with Malaysia,” Hishammuddin said in a statement here today.

The action by the government of Malaysia said Hishammuddin has become a necessity in order to protect Malaysia’s sovereignty and safeguard the national interest.

“This action is a reminder that Malaysia shall never tolerate any attempt to meddle in our internal affairs and judiciary, disrespect our governance system and constantly create unnecessary tensions in defiance of the rules-based international order,” Hishammuddin reiterated. –Malaysia World News
