BUKIT GANTANG: There is no need to table a motion of confidence to test the majority of the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in Parliament, said the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Idris Ahmad.

According to Idris, who is also the PAS vice-president, the validity of Ismail Sabri’s appointment should not be disputed as it was done in accordance with the Federal Constitution.

The Federal Constitution states that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has the power to appoint the prime minister.

Attorney-General Tan Sri Idrus Harun has also said that there was no need to legitimise the appointment of the Prime Minister and the government that had been formed according to the Malaysian law and Constitution.
