
KUALA LUMPUR: New York Couture Fashion Week Malaysia has hit Kuala Lumpur with stunning, extravaganza fashion collections on 25th February 2023 at Parkroyal Collection Kuala Lumpur.
The event, which was organized by Media Path International (Malaysia World News) in partnership with Couture Fashion Week New York (CFW NY), has seen more than 20 participating designers and over 50 professional models from all over the world including Japan, USA, Ukraine, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Africa, and Malaysia.
Among the Designers were: Award-Winning Designer Andres Aquino, who is also the Founder of Couture Fashion Week New York, Von Jolly, Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (Centexs), Dicky Ishak Couturier, Amanda Brown Couture, Vivien Tsai, JeMels Atelier, Tommy Le, Gpysykorn Atelier and 12 young designers from Taylor s University, The Design School.

Couture Fashion Week New York is one of New York Fashion Week’s most prestigious events and the world`s most popular fashion show that presents a series of couture and luxury fashion shows in New York City, Cannes, France, and other selected cities. The shows include exceptional designers from around the globe, performances by world-class entertainers, luxury exhibits of art, accessories, and other products, VIP dinners, and related events.

The Event was attended by many VVIPs including the USA Ambassador to Malaysia H.E. Brian D. McFeeters, Y.M Tengku Dato’ Dr. Hishammuddin Zaizi Bin Y.A.M Tengku Bendahara Azman Shah Al-Haj, and Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture representative, Dato’ Dr Amar Abdul Ghapar, Senior Director, International Promotion Division (America/Europe/Oceania) from Malaysia Tourism Board, Malaysian celebrity Actor and Fashion Icon Wak Doyok, Professor Dr David Asirvatham, Executive Dean of FIT, Taylor’s University, Dr Pouline Koh Chai Lin, Head of The Design School, and many representatives from Tourism Selangor.

According to the Organizer and Director Ziinine Britshi, the event is set to promote cultural unity, Malaysian and international textile arts, and local tourism, under the theme “Uniting Cultures, Promoting Tourism Through Fashion.
“Hosting New York Couture Fashion Week 2023 in Kuala Lumpur is a step to make Malaysia a hub for international fashion shows in Southeast Asia,” he added.


At the Event, Designer Gurdip Kaur has won the Best Designer Award 2023 , while Reenisha Kaur has won Best Model Award 2023. Both winners will represent Malaysia at the upcoming CFW’s show in New York, USA or Cannes, France.

As an international event, the NCFW 2023 in Malaysia has brought together Malaysian and international fashion designers and models and given them an opportunity to walk on the global runway and go to the international level.


The event was supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Tourism Malaysia, and sponsored by European Wellness represented by Dr Mike Chan, Yuela Gold, Oyone, Sompoton Spa, Shaikhah Salon, Sheng Tai International, Nottingheels, Full Throttle Films Sdn Bhd, Nicklaus Chia, Mercato, Ames Hotel and The Sybaris, and Parkroyal Collection Kuala Lumpur.

At the same event, featured by designers from Taylors University, Sherlyn Chan Seet Leng has emerged as winner of Ms Plus Intercontinental Malaysia 2023 and Lam Man Teng was crowned Miss Plus World Malaysia 2023, while Nurhidayah Hashim was crowned Ms Plus Photogenic Malaysia and Shalani Kaliappan, Ms Plus Elegance Malaysia and Emilia Josephine Masiun, Ms Plus Ambassador Malaysia.

“It was a great aspiration to see all local and international models participating in this international show including plus size models from Miss Plus World Malaysia pageant.

“We also gave opportunities to all local and international models living in Malaysia to participate, get exposure on the international runway and stand a chance to win awards and prizes,” said Ziinine.

Designer Vivien has also featured Zarra and Leiya, the youngest kids who have surprised the audience with their stunning professional catwalk wearing luxurious couture.
