PUTRAJAYA JUNE 24: The electricity and water tariff rates remain unchanged in the Peninsular and the government is committed to continue floating the subsidy amounting RM5.8 billion despite drastic increase in the prices of fuel and other generating costs.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the unchanged tariff rate means the 2 sen/kWj rebate remains for all domestic users with no surcharge. For that, the electricity tariff rate remains the same for all domestic users in the Peninsular.
“The surcharge of 3.70 sen/kWj remains for all non-domestic users namely in the commercial and industry sectors. Subsequently, the government has decided that the price of chicken will not be floated in the market.
“The new ceiling price of chicken will be announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry shortly,” Ismail said in a statement here today.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the decision has proven that the government is very concern on the interests of the Malaysian Family so as not to be burdened with the increase in prices and the challenges in the costs of living. –Malaysia World News
