PETALING JAYA: Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s son, Datuk Mohd Nizar (pic right), might be contesting for the Pekan seat in the 15th General Election.
According to Utusan Malaysia, Nizar is seen as the right candidate for the seat if Najib does not contest in GE15.
“He is the most likely potential candidate to continue the legacy of the late Tun Abdul Razak,” the report said.
Mohd Nizar, the son of Najib Razak and first wife, Tengku Puteri Zainah Tengku Eskandar, is currently the Pekan Umno youth chief.
Najib retained the Pekan parliamentary seat since the death of his father in 1976.
In the 2018 general election (GE14), he won the seat with a majority of 24,859 votes.
