Outgoing Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Hamid Bador (pic) has admitted that he has been having issue working with current Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.

“I have to admit that the working relationship between the current (Home) Minister (Hamzah) and I was not that harmonious,” he said at a press conference yesterday.

Hamid Bador added that Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was a very good Home Minister.

“During the first phase of my tenure as the IGP under the PH administration from 2019 until 2020, the then Home Minister was the current Prime Minister, I had no issue at all (working with Muhyiddin).

” He (Muhyiddin) has been very supportive, understanding. He did not ignore the plight of the police force.

“And he did not push his weight around, wanting this or that done. He will only say a few words such as ‘do something about it’.

“For me that is enough if it comes from a Minister and as the IGP, I know my responsibility.

“You do not have to lecture me,” Hamid Bador told reporters.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin did not ignore the plight of the police when he was the Home Minister under the previous Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration. But all that changed after Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin was appointed as the Home Minister under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government, he added.
