KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin warned the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim not to abuse his power by attacking the opposition leaders.
The Pagoh Member of Parliament (MP) said the Unity Government will face a backlash should they continue attacking the PN leaders.
“I believe the people will continue to support PN in the state elections as they had supported us during the 15th General Election.
“They are trying to paint us black and calling “lanun” (thieves) so that the people will not support us. Do not think that you can last forever? I had been in the position and so did Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob,” Muhyiddin said in his speech at the Dewan Rakyat today.
He said it was a short stint for both of them and warned the Tambun MP that he too will not last forever as the prime minister.
Muhyiddin then reminded Anwar just to do his work and not to have ill intent toward others.
Meanwhile, the former prime minister also cited that recently Pakatan Harapan (PH) leader had criticized and challenged the position of the Malays and Bumiputera in the civil services.
Muhyiddin warned the PH leader concerned to respect the civil servants’ feelings and said that he is part of the government.
“What will happen then if they (civil servants) refuse to work,” Muhyiddin said referring to the remark by Penang Deputy Chief Minister Dr. P. Ramasamy on the Malay/Bumiputera monopoly in the civil service sector. –Malaysia World News
