KUALA LUMPUR: Bersatu Youth Chief, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal said no party should equalise the charges faced by the party President, Muhyiddin Yassin with that of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s case as it is like ‘apple and orange’.

He said, Muhyiddin’s case is different as it does not involve the biggest global financial scandal such as 1MDB as quoted by FMT.

“The Malays are smart to evaluate between precious stones with that of glass,” Wan Fayhsal said at the 4th Armada Annual General Meeting, Saturday.

Elaborating on it, Wan Fayhsal said, Muhyiddin’s case is related to the political funding.
He added, it is not wrong to receive it but we leave it to the courts to decide on it.

On Friday, Muhyiddin had claimed trial on four charges involving abuse of power related to Jana Wibawa programme to obtain RM232.5 million for the party and two other charges on money laundering amounting RM195 million.

Meanwhile on 28th July 2020, Najib was convicted by the High Court for abuse of power and money laundering and breach of trust related to SRC International Fund amounting RM42 million.

On Aug.23 2022, Najib had served imprisonment at the Kajang Prison after the Federal Court decided to maintain the conviction on the case.
“I will ensure the party members and the leadership will defend Muhyiddin,” he added. –Malaysia World News
