Muhyddin said he left the matter to the discretion of the Pardon Board to make a decision on Najib Razak’s royal pardon appeal

PASIR PUTEH: Perikatan Nasional (PN)’s chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he left the matter to the discretion of the Pardon Board to make a decision on Najib Razak’s royal pardon application.

“This matter has certain processes and procedures.

“I cannot give any comment because that is based on the constitution of the law,”  he told reporters after chairing the Kelantan state level PN meeting here yesterday.

Muhyddin has also refused commenting further on the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim being part of the Pardon Board assessment.

UMNO leaders have recently requested the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to consider a full pardon for the former Prime Minister, as provided under Article 42 (1) of the Federal Constitution.

UMNO Secretary General, Datuk Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said all UMNO leader agreed to apply an appeal to His Majesty along with a memorandum signed by all UMNO leadership from 191 Divisions including UMNO Youth and Women’s Movement wing.
