KUALA LUMPUR SEPT. 13: For the first time in history the Federal Government and the opposition parties under Pakatan Harapan (PH) had signed a Transformation and Political Stability Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Parliament here today.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the memorandum will form a bi-partisan cooperation that is strong and solid by upholding the spirit of Malaysian Family in line with the opening speech of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatullah Al-Mustafa Billah Shah in conjunction with the opening of the First Meeting, Fourth Term of the 14th Parliament here today.
Ismail added, His Majesty Sultan Abdullah has expressed his wish that all parties should practise democracy through discussions in search of ways to solve any problems with the aim to achieve Prosperous Malaysia, Inclusive and Sustainable.
“The spirit of Malaysian Family stresses on unity, mutual agreement and togetherness that has been presented in the MoU by the government and Members of the Dewan Rakyat today.
“The transformation that has been introduced by the government is not only to drive towards excellent governance in combating COVID-19 and economic recovery but as a catalyst for a condusive investment environment and subsequently leading to the economic growth that is strong for the prosperity of Malaysian Family,” Ismail said in a statement here today.
The Prime Minister added, the MoU that was signed covers i) Empowerment of the COVID-19 Plan ii) Administration Transformtion iii) Parliament Renewal iv) Freedom of the Judiciary Institution v) MA63 Malaysia Agreement and vi) Formation of Steering Committee.
Ismail said the government is confident that the MoU is not only able to put aside the differences in political ideologies but able to ensure the national recovery will run holistically and inclusively.
“I record my highest appreciation to all the honoured MPs who have whole heartedly put aside the differences in their political ideologies to be together to lead the economic stability and the prosperity of the Malaysian Family,” Ismail reiterated.-Malaysia World News
