PUTRAJAYA MAY 21: National Security Council (MKN): Management of COVID-19 in its special meeting today agreed to implement a stricter standard operating procedure (SOP) in the Movement Control Order 3.0 which has been enforced nationwide effective 12th May 2021.
The Prime Minister’s Office in its statement said, the SOP includes inter-district/state travel ban and sanctions on social activities, sports and recreation, conference and face-face meeting.
“Taking into consideration the details of the discussion, the NSC special meeting has also agreed to add in more stringent sanctions on the economic and social sectors.
“The State Governments were also involved in the special meeting taking into consideration the latest situation in each state and their opinions on the efforts to contain the transmission of COVID-19,” the statement said.
According to the statement, the details of the additional sanctions will be announced by the Senior and Defence Minister in a press conference on 22nd May 2021 (tomorrow).
The NSC Special Meeting chaired by Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has also studied in detail the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) presentation on the current status of COVID-19 including the infectivity rate, the health capacity in each state and proposed measures and actions to control the COVID-19 transmissions. –Malaysia World News
