JAKARTA: Malaysia’s participation at the Indo Defence 2018 among other aims is to attract many more defence companies from the air, sea and land sectors to participate at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition or LIMA 2019 next March.  

Defence Minister, Mohamad Sabu said, with nine Malaysian defence companies exhibiting their products and services at the Malaysian Pavilion, he hopes other international defence players will be attracted to participate and join in LIMA 2019.

“The main aim of our participation at the exhibition is to instil confidence to the international defence players on Malaysia’s defence industry capabilities.

“The government through the Malaysian Industry Council for Defence, Enforcement and Security that foresees the development of the local defence industries has made the participation of the nine companies possible in Jakarta,” he said.

 Among the nine companies participating at the exhibition are DSA Exhibition; Diftech;  Sapura; West Star; Systematic Aviation; Aerospace Technology System Corperation and Advance  Defence Systems.

Mohamad said, participating in the exhibition has also elevated the bilateral relationship between the two countries apart from giving benefits to the participating companies, individual participants and also the defence industry.

The eight edition of the Indo Defence Exhibition 2018 is held from 7-10th November. 

Meanwhile on the same mission of promoting LIMA 2019, the Chief of the Royal Malaysia Air Force, Tan Sri Affendi Buang is now attending the Zhuhai Airshow held from 6th till 11th November at Guangdong, China.

At the event Affendi has visited the exhibition centre for defence equipments, defence systems, drone and the latest airplanes technology that have been produced by the local Chinese companies.

Affendi has also invited some of the exhibitors namely CETC, AECC, BAIC Group, COMAC, CAAC, Dong Feng Group and Tianhe Defense to participate at LIMA 2019. Besides that he has been briefed by Aviation Industries China that manufactures airplanes. –Malaysia World News
