MOHA signs 8 contracts worth RM2.595 billion to maintain national security

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and contracts worth RM2.596 billion in conjunction with the Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2022 and National Security Asia (NATSEC) 2022 held in MITEC until 31st March 2022.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by MOHA Minister, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin while the MoU and MOHA contracts were signed by MOHA Chief Secretary Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz together with Director General of Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) and local companies’ representatives.

“MOHA is always committed in placing the national security aspects as its main agenda especially in the procurement plan to ensure the national security assets are always in the high readiness mode.

“In the efforts to manifest such commitments, MOHA has signed one MoU with MAMPU and eight contracts worth RM2.595 billion with the local companies including Royal Police Malaysia (RPM) with RM249, 521, 585, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) worth RM124, 229,300 and Immigration Department Malaysia (IDM) with RM2, 222,840,497.89,” Hamzah said in a statement.

The statement added among the high impact contracts signed include the Procurement of Satellite X-Band for RPM, SWASLA Up-Graded System for MMEA and National Integrated Immigration System Project for IDM.

The Minister added, the signing of the MoU and MOHA contracts is a symbolic government’s effort to ensure the national security is maintained from all kinds of threats by prioritising the procurement of strategic assets besides supporting the theme of DSA Exhibition 2022 and NATSEC Asia 2022, “Advancing into a New Era of Defence and Security”. –Malaysia World News
