MOH denied application of placebo in COVID-19 vaccine used in PICK – Quick Response Team

PUTRAJAYA JAN.27: The Ministry of Health (MOH) denied the video that went viral in the Facebook alleging placebo has been applied in COVID-19 vaccine used in the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).

MOH has explained that the allegation in the video is not true as all pharmaceutical products including the vaccine has been approved by the Drug Control Authority and only contain active material and excipient that have been approved for sales and not a kind of placebo.

Quick Response Team of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia in its statement said, MOH has explained that the placebo is only used at the clinical research level but not in the registered product that is used in PICK.

“Members of the public are advised not to be easily swayed into believing information from not a reliable source that could create worrisome and anxiety but instead refer to the official social media of MOH to get the reliable information,” said the Quick Response Team in its statement here today.-Malaysia World News
