Minister Saifuddin tested positive for COVID-19

PUTRAJAYA APR.29: The Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah (pic) has been detected with positive COVID-19 following the result of his screening test on the evening of 28th April 2021.

Ministry of Communications and Multimedia in its statement said, the Ministry of Health (MOH) is monitoring the condition of the minister who is now on house quarantine and waiting to be admitted to the hospital.

“Throughout the treatment and quarantine period, Saifuddin will continue to monitor and ensure that the Ministry’s affairs run smoothly,” said the statement here today.

In the statement, the Minister extends his thanks to all the people who have prayed for his health and apologises for the problem that arises from the situation he is facing now.

According to the Ministry’s representative, Saifuddin did not attend the Cabinet meeting and the Iftar session held in Kuala Lumpur yesterday with the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. 

In another development, Saifuddin did not receive his COVID-19 vaccination as he had announced at one press conference that he wanted to do it with the media practitioners whom he regarded as frontliners. –Malaysia World News
