PUTRAJAYA SEPT.28: The Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department (EPU-PM’s Department) has never spent RM2 billion to produce the 12th Malaysian Plan (RMK-12) book as alleged by the Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy), Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said, the five years national development plan has been prepared by the officers in the EPU-PM’s Department under his supervision and inputs from various parties in the management involvement levels.

“The preparation of the RMK-12 involves a very small cost for management, printing and media consultancy.

“I hope Datuk Seri Anwar will correct his statement to avoid negative perceptions on the EPU-PM’s Department officers and the government,” Mustapa said in a statement here today.

Mustapa was responding to Anwar’s statement when debating on the 12th Malaysia Plan in the Dewan Rakyat today saying”…we can spend billion of Ringgit for the consultant. I am made to understand 5-6 years ago, RM1.8 billion has been spent. As such I would like to ask more than RM2 billion has been given to the consultant to complete this 12th RMK-12 book?” –Malaysia World News
