
London: The Ministry of Defence Malaysia has signed a tripartite agreement between the government of Malaysia, DRB-HICOM Defence Technologies Sdn. Bhd. (Deftech) and Thales at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) booth in the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition in ExCel here recently.
The agreement is for the offset related to the acquisition of AV8 wheeled armoured vehicle. TDA Armements, subsidiary of Thales Group is the supplier for 2R2M 120mm mortar to Deftech.
The Ministry of Defence was represented by Deputy Secretary General (Policy), Datuk Junaidah Kamarruddin while Thales was represented by Vice President, Vehicles and Tactical Systems, Pierre Benard.
The signing was witnessed by Chief of Defence Force, General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affendi Raja Mohamed Noor and Thomas Pistre, Country Director of Thales in Malaysia.
Amongst the programmes conducted at DSEI was the DIT DSO-Malaysia Networking Event, DSA’s collaboration with UK Department for International Trade Defence and Security Organisation (DIT DSO).

The event has brought together especially invited guests from UK SMEs and Malaysian companies for a networking session hosted by the DIT DSG Small Business Unit. The event took place on the 12th September at the DIT DSO/UK MOD business lounge at DSEI.
DSEI is a global defence and security event with five key sector focused zones namely Air, Land, Naval, Security and Joint all showcasing the latest equipment and systems. The DSA has been participating in DSEI since the show started in 2001 and this is their ninth participation.

Bhd. is the organiser of the renowned international exhibition Defence Services Asia (DSA) which will take place in Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) Kuala Lumpur from 16-19 April 2018.
