MinDef presents excellent service awards 2022 to 874 civil servants, 9,198 MAF staff

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and Malaysia Armed Forces (MAF) have presented Excellent Service Awards (APC), Service and Excellent Character (PPT) Medals 2022 to 874 civil servants, 9,198 MAF staff from the three service branches and 133 retirees involving 10,205 individuals.

The Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Utama Mohamad Hasan was present at the APC and Ministry of Defence -Your Services will be Remembered 2023 event held at InterContinental Hotel here Tuesday.

The Ministry of Defence in its statement said, at the event the minister had presented the awards and medals to 391 APC recipients and PPT Medals to the civil servants at Wisma Pertahanan, Military Units, MAF staff and selected public retirees.

“For the others, the award giving event will be facilitated by the States/and Headquarters,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, the minister urged the defence work forces to continue remaining excellent with sincerity and positive attitudes besides being exemplary to the colleagues to work harder in future.

“To the retirees, we retired from the service but do not retire in giving back to the people and the country,” Mohamad said in his speech when officiating the event with the theme “Appreciating Sustaining Services and Ministry of Defence Excellence.”

According to the statement, the APC recipients will be given the Excellent Service Certificate and cash money worth RM1, 000 each while the public service retirees and compulsory retirement will receive the PPT Medal, Appreciation Certificate and cash money of RM600.

“The public service retirees who have retired by choice will receive the Appreciation Certificate and cash money of RM600.

“The award and the recognition are given as an appreciation to every defence staff where they do not only act as the national frontline workers but play their roles as core elements in the second pillar of the national defence strategy that is Comprehensive Defence as framed in the Defence White Paper,” the statement said. – Malaysia World News
