KUALA LUMPUR-The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has won the National Energy Award (NEA) 2021 as the Best Large Green Building for category Energy Efficient Building in an event held here Friday.
MCMC said, the success has proven the commitment of MCMC on the principles and values under the management concept of Environmental, Social and Governance or ESG that emphasizes on the balance between development and harmony in the implementation of every initiative.
The statement added, the MCMC Headquarters (HQ) Tower 1 is the main landmark in Cyberjaya. The award given to MCMC HQ Tower 1is based on several aspects such as the architecture of the green building, operation and the maintenance.
“The success is a very significant development in helping to reduce the release of carbon into the air that is in line with the government’s effort to empower the sustainability of development in Malaysia.
“Among the efforts taken to achieve the status of green building include the focus on the energy saving, water efficiency and the quality of the environment development inside the building and the sustainability of the environment,” the statement said here today.
The statement added, the solar power, green garden on the roof of the building, green harvesting and the wind besides the “Koi” fish pond are among the features seen in MCMC HQ Tower 1 in the efforts of the Commission to maintain the green environment.
According to MCMC, the effort for the sustainability development of the environment is in line with the 12th Malaysia Plan that focuses on the green economy approach and the government’s aim to achieve the aspiration to become a neutral carbon country the earliest in 2050.
“MCMC will continue its commitment to lead the environment sustainability and green development for the interest of the future generation” the statement said. –Malaysia World News
