McDonalds Malaysia confirms contributing RM1 million to Palestine Humanitarian Fund


 

KUALA LUMPUR: McDonalds Malaysia confirms its contribution worth RM1 million to the Palestine Humanitarian Fund that was newly launched under the Prime Minister’s Department.

McDonalds Malaysia in a statement said, this is in line with the government’s commendable endeavour as announced by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the presentation of the 2024 Budget in Dewan Rakyat recently.

“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has suggested allocating RM10 million to the Palestine Humanitarian Fund and this is in line with our commitment to support those affected following the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

“The humanitarian crisis that is becoming more pressing in Gaza has made the importance of this effort to move forward. Subsequently McDonalds Malaysia works together with the government to support the funding with the hope to help the Palestinians who are facing difficult times,” the statement said.

The statement added, McDonalds Malaysia’s contribution to the Fund will directly support the humanitarian aid in Gaza and will fulfil the critical needs of those affected. The aids include medicines, food, shelter and assistance to evacuate if required by the rescue team.

“Our commitment is focused fully on providing the basic needs for those in difficulties.

“We are confident the co-operation spirit will help in this critical time. Besides this contribution, McDonalds Malaysia encourages their employees across the country to participate in fund raising campaigns. We hope this effort will give a meaningful impact to the lives of those affected in Gaza,” said the statement.- Malaysia World News
