KUALA LUMPUR: Many companies are looking at Malaysia as a strategic partner in Southeast Asia in the light of global shifts in supply chains, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Shanghai, China.
In his Facebook post on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said, Malaysia’s centrality, skilled workforce and pro-business environment make us a natural choice for companies seeking stability, growth and a reliable gateway to Asia.
“I continued my task leading the Malaysian delegation in Shanghai to attract investments to Malaysia by hosting a roundtable discussion with captains of industry from 24 major companies in China.
“For over an hour we discussed and explored investment and trade opportunities in Malaysia across various key sectors including semiconductors, aerospace, electric vehicles, automotive components, medical devices and equipment, and telecommunications.
“I assured the industry leaders that Malaysia is ready to support both investors and trade partners with the resources and stability needed to succeed.
“Together we can drive innovation and sustainable growth, creating jobs and boosting our economy,” Anwar said.
Following his three day meeting in Shanghai, Anwar is scheduled to have a courtesy call with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing today (Thursday) where both leaders are expected to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and to exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest and concern. –Malaysia World News
