Malaysian couple arrested for allegedly supplying firearms to Israeli man

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have arrested a local couple for allegedly supplying firearms to the Israeli man who had been detained in a hotel at Jalan Ampang recently.

The 42 and 40 year old married couple had been detained by the officers and members of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at a Ramadan bazaar in Kuala Selangor at 7.15pm last night (Friday).

It was reported that upon the couple’s arrest, the police took them to their residence also in Kuala Selangor where they found a pistol in a backpack inside their Honda Jazz car.

Meanwhile, sources said that the male suspect is believed to be responsible for supplying six pistols to the Israeli man suspected to be a spy. The Israeli man had entered the country on 12th March using a fake French passport.

However, it is believed that the couple will be remanded today for further investigation.

On another development, earlier the police have arrested a local man in Cameron Highlands, Pahang believed to be the driver of the Israeli man since he came to the country.

Currently the police are still investigating on the motive of the Israeli man’s entry to the country besides possessing six pistols and 200 bullets.

The Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain in a press conference yesterday said that the suspect an Israeli man, 36, was arrested in a hotel at Jalan Ampang last Wednesday.

Razarudin also mentioned that the man suspected to be a spy entered the country to “kill another Israeli” following a family issue but the police did not believe his claims. – Malaysia World News
