Kuala Lumpur: Covid-19 vaccine will be made available for free to all non-citizens living in Malaysia including undocumented foreigners.

In a joint statement today Health Minister Dr Adham Baba and Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said, the cabinet agreed that the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme that will involve vaccination for civilians living in  Malaysia will be free.

“This involves all groups including non-citizens who reside in Malaysia.

“This is in line with the theme of the programme which is namely ‘Protect Yourself, Protect Everyone’ and maintains the attitude that there is no salvation until all are well,” the statement said.

The committee added that the decision to extend free vaccination to non-Malaysians residing in the country is also part of humanitarian aid in times of pandemic.

According to the Health Minister 126,000 people are expected to be vaccinated per day at 600 locations nationwide beginning late February.
