KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia and the Philippines have agreed to focus on trade and investments that have big potentials to increase through cooperation between business communities from both countries.
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said, in the meeting with the Philippines President, Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his delegation on Wednesday, both countries have committed towards achieving such goals.
“I believe it is important that both nations will also explore the economic opportunities in the halal industry as an effort to strengthen the trade cooperation relationship.
“In the media conference I have also touched on the potentials of the importance of halal industry relating to the halal certification issue that could be acted upon to ensure the industry could break through the West Asia market.
“Of course Malaysia takes the experiences of the Philippines in increasing its economic sector after the COVID-19 pandemic under the leadership of the President and it will strengthens the collaboration relationship between the two countries,” Anwar said in his Facebook post yesterday.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is on his inaugural State Visit to Malaysia from 25th to 27th July 2023 and accompanied by the First Lady, Madam Louise Araneta Marcos and the government of Philippines’s delegation.
The Prime Minister hopes the relationship between Malaysia-Philippines will continue to strengthen in facing the technological changes and the global economic uncertainties. –Malaysia World News
