KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia MADANI concept does not only focus on the economic aspects and the income of the people but also the prosperity that will uplift the living standard of the people and it includes spiritual, health, housings, social unity and empowerment of MADANI society that are based on six main subjects.
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said, the formation of MADANI society will include efforts to instil the humanity values and personality in civil services, education sector and institutionalised social researches.
Anwar said, all the programmes and trainings organised will ensure the understanding of the basic Islamic teachings for the muslims that stresses on value aspects, culture and moral for the general public.
“The government is determined to increase the quality of the people’s health. The Health White Paper tabled in Dewan Rakyat on 15th June 2023 is targetting reformation to be implemented within 15 years via “Strengthening Health Care Services”.
“A total of 1,200 clinics in poor condition in the country will be uplifted for the period 2023 until 2025 to guarantee the quality of services. The government has also agreed to implement the soonest the first phase in uplifting the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) with an estimation cost of RM500 million to address the prolonged congestion problems.
“The mental health issue has been worrying and becomes the priority of the government and as such the Mental Health Institute will be built to guarantee the integrated efforts between the government, private sectors and civil society associations will address this issue,”Anwar said when tabling the 12th MP Mid-Term Review in Dewan Rakyat, Monday.
The prime minister said, the status has shifted to be an old nation in 2021 when the percentage of the population aged 65 and above has reached 7 per cent from the total population based on the United Nations (UN) criteria.
“In twenty years time the country is expected to shift to the status of old nation when the same cohort age reaches 14 per cent from the total population. To face the challenge of an old nation the government is forming the National Old-Aged Action Framework and also to build the Geriatric Centre to provide quality health care services for senior citizens,” he added.
Meanwhile the Private Facility and Senior Citizens Health Care Services Act 2018 is being studied and is expected to be enforced in 2025.
According to Anwar several additional efforts including embracing the Rukun Negara spirit, Unity Tour Premiere Programme and youth unity activities will be elevated. The Perlis Unity Complex will be built as the unity hub in the northern zone that focuses on unity machineries including community operation mediator and “Rukun Tetangga” areas, kindergartens and children’s care centres.
The prime minister also emphasized that sports has proven to be able to enhance unity and build active and healthy society. Following that the government will implement more sports programme at community level. An allocation of RM40 million is provided for registered community sports associations to organize sports events.
“Efforts to prepare national athlete teams to reach Road to Gold at Paris Olympic Games 2024 and Los Angeles 2028 will be enhanced,” he said.
Anwar said, he is confident with the involvement of the public and private sectors, the target to build 500,000 affordable houses under 12th MP will be achieved. Until the end of 2022, 108,373 affiordable houses have been built.
“The MADANI Inclusive Housing pioneer project will be built for target groups in main cities such as Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Penang. The project involves 800 units of houses with different floor size to accomodate the needs of the different target group,” Anwar reiterated. –Malaysia World News.
