KUALA LUMPUR: Brazil, Russia and China with their unwavering protest against Israel’s brutalities in Gaza, Palestine should be involved in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) emergency meeting as suggested by Turkiye and Saudi Arabia.

Prime Minister DatukSeri Anwar Ibrahim said, he had been in contact with Turkiye’s President, Racep Tayyip Erdogan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs besides Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud of Saudi Arabia who had suggested that an emergency meeting should be held and attended by heads of all Islamic States.

Anwar said, he had requested the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd.Kadir to contact Turkiye and Saudi Arabia to inform them on the justification to hold OIC emergency meeting.

Earlier in his speech at Dewan Rakyat today (Tuesday), Anwar said he did not want to be involved in any “wasted discourse”. Nobody should presume that this Palestine-Israel conflict issue has any vested political interest.

“The brutality platform in Palestine should not be a political capital to certain party to forward their agenda to break the harmony in Malaysia instead this is the best time to be united as one voice to fight the evil and cruelty of the Israel’s Zionist regime.

On the demarche or diplomatic initiative that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had received from the US Embassy on 13 Oct. and 30th Oct.2023, Anwar said, the demarche is related to Malaysia’s refusal to regard Hamas as terrorist body in Palestine.

“Malaysia is free and stays with our stance. We protest on the illegal invasion of the Israelis into the Arab territories and Palestinian’s land as it has breached the international law. It had been going on since 1948,” Anwar said.

Meanwhile, in his Facebook post, Anwar highlighted that Malaysia is a free and sovereign country to uphold its own foreign policies. Malaysia will not bow to any pressure in various forms and will continue to voice out on the principle of justice and humanity and protest against the apartheid policy of the Israel’s Zionist regime. – Malaysia World News
