PUTRAJAYA APRIL 16: Malaysia is gravely concerned with the escalation of violence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) and strongly condemns the attacks by Israeli Occupation Forces on Palestinian civilians and worshippers at the Al Aqsa Mosque on 15th April 2022.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, taking place in the holiest of months and in one of the holiest of sites for Muslims, the actions of the Israeli Occupation Forces represent a continuation of its assaults and apartheid policy against the fundamental rights, lives, livelihoods and dignity of the Palestinians.

“I believe the international community must renew its commitment towards a lasting solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. While the international community is justifiably appalled by the violence taking place elsewhere in the world today, it must not disregard the systematic and untrammelled acts of aggression of the Israel Occupation Forces against Palestinians of all faiths in their own land.

“Malaysia will work closely with fellow members of the international community seeking peace and justice for the Palestinians, and lasting peace in the Middle East at all relevant multilateral platforms to effect practical and positive change in the Occupied Palestinian Territory,” Ismail said in a statement today.

Prime Minister Ismail added, Malaysia also reaffirms our unwavering support for the Palestinians and their cause for achieving freedom from the Israeli illegal occupation, and realising their aspirations for an independent State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders and, with East Jerusalem as their Capital. –Malaysia World News
