KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today has consented to hold the Malay Rulers’ Special Meeting at Istana Negara tomorrow (Thursday 24th Nov. 2022).
Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja Istana Negara, Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said, the meeting is for His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah to get the opinions of the Malay Rulers for His Majesty to make decision for the interest and prosperity of the country and the people.
“His Majesty urges the people to pray and remain calm until the process of forming a new government is completed. The future of the country where we were born is too valuable and it is wise for us to plan in the most cautious and careful ways.
The people have made their decisions as to who are their representatives. As such it is up to the People’s Representatives (Members of Parliament) to find formulas to solve the dilemma that has been disturbing the people,” Ahmad Fadil said in a statement here today.
According to Ahmad Fadil His Majesty invites the people to pray for the prosperity of our beloved country.
Ahmad Fadil said, earlier in the morning today His Majesty had received an audience separately from the Barisan Nasional representatives and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) at Istana Negara.
“The two party affiliations to have an audience with His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah is an extension of the sessions with Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) separately at 4.30pm on 22nd.Nov.2022.
“The audience sessions of the coalition leaders was following the result of the Prime Minister’s candidates that have been notified by the leaders to Istana Negara on 22nd Nov.2022 and found that no Member of Parliament has obtained the confidence of simple majority to be appointed as the 10th Prime Minister,” Ahmad Fadil said.
Ahmad Fadil stressed that the process above is in line with Article 43(2)(a) Federal Constitution aimed for His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah to make a decision to appoint a Member of Parliament who in his opinion probably gets the confidence of majority of Members of Parliament as the Prime Minister. – Malaysia World News
